Every business or organization operates a little differently and camps are no exception. Although Christian camps all have the same goal, the ways they go about it are completely unique to their program and facilities. Here is what you can expect when you show up at Lost Timber Bible Camp.
Grounds
Lost Timber Bible Camp is nestled into a large valley surrounded by 175 acres of wooded hills. This makes for a great intimate setting without the distractions of everyday life.
Facilities
Our camp grounds were originally an agricultural farm. Although a lot of renovation has happened over the years, you will be able to recognize the rural architecture on some of our buildings. We continue to modify and improve our facilities to meet our needs.
Cabins
Our cabins are made up of rooms consisting of bunk beds. Cabins have indoor restroom and shower facilities. Some cabins are outfitted with heat and air conditioning and we are working to equip all of our cabins with heat and AC.
Cabin Groups
Our cabin groups are kept small intentionally to foster friendships and generate meaningful moments. Campers are given the opportunity to choose a friend or two that they would like to bunk with, otherwise, they will be placed in a cabin based on their grade.
Cabin Time
A great time for counselors to organize an activity for their cabin. Some of the favorites are Extreme Dodgeball and the Bench Hill Driving Range for the guys. Girls cabin time tends to be a little more civilized but still plenty of fun.
Activities
All of our activities are designed to create a memorable experience but also to encourage friendships. Some activities include: traditional sports, unusual games, adventure games, capture the flag, campfires, swimming, cabin time and free time.
Swimming
Lost Timber has a pond that we continually work to improve. Swimming is a scheduled group activity. If a camper does not wish to swim that's OK, we have activities at the beach they can participate in that don't involve swimming.
Chapel
Our camp programs include two chapel sessions each day. During this time, campers participate in awesome praise and worship and sound Bible teaching. Our speakers are hand selected to teach a specific age of campers so you can be sure they will understand and benefit from what is talked about in chapel.
Group Discussion
The older camps participate in a discussion group each day where we discuss topics relevant to their lives in an interactive setting.
Free Time
Designed time for counselors to hang out with their campers at their level. Common activities include hiking, basketball, volleyball, carpet ball, 9-Square in the Air, Gaga Ball or just hanging out.
Rest Time
The younger camps have a rest time so we can make sure they stay healthy and energized for the next activity. Rest time is not built into the older camps, as much as we'd all enjoy it.
Meals
Meal times at Lost Timber are a great opportunity for campers to get to know each other better. Menus are age-specific and meals are served buffet style.
